Before you start
- PAA Box installed in Chrome, with PAA Box Pro.
- Chrome open while you use it. PAA Box does the searching, so it can’t work when Chrome is closed.
- Node.js 20 or newer for the apps above. It’s free from nodejs.org. Not sure if you have it? Type
node -vin Terminal. - Turn it on in PAA Box (once): unpack any search, click a Pro tool under the results (Question map, AKA plan, Export or History), and in the dashboard that opens click Account, then switch on “Allow AI assistants (MCP)”.
How it works
- You ask your assistant: “Unpack People Also Ask for ‘kitchen remodel cost’, two levels deep.”
- A small connector on your computer passes the request to PAA Box.
- PAA Box opens Google in your Chrome and unpacks the box, the same way it does when you click Unpack.
- Your assistant gets every question back, nested by depth, ready to outline, cluster or write from.
Everything runs on your computer. No cloud, no proxies, no API keys. Searches happen in your own Chrome, as you, with your language and location.

Good to know
- Questions only runs quietly in a background tab. With answers opens a Chrome window, because Google only loads answers in a visible tab. Leave it open until it finishes.
- To protect your Google account, PAA Box waits at least 20 seconds between unpacks and does at most 30 an hour.
- If Google shows a CAPTCHA, solve it in Chrome and wait a few minutes.
- Using it in two apps at once? Only one can talk to PAA Box at a time; the newest one takes over.
Private by design
The connector runs only on your computer and talks only to PAA Box in your Chrome. It has no account and no tracking, and it stores nothing. Your questions are never sent to us; the only traffic is the Google searches themselves, from your own browser.
Not connecting?
- Is Chrome open, with “Allow AI assistants (MCP)” switched on in the PAA Box dashboard, under Account?
- Is your PAA Box Pro license connected? (Same page: it shows your email and plan.)
- Wait 30 seconds; PAA Box reconnects on its own.
- Still nothing? Reload PAA Box in
chrome://extensions, then ask “Check the PAA Box status” again. - “npx: command not found” means Node.js isn’t installed: get it from nodejs.org.

Common questions
Does it run in the cloud?
No. It runs on your computer, in your Chrome. That’s why there are no extra costs, no blocked searches, and your results match your own Google.
Does it work in ChatGPT or claude.ai in the browser?
No. Browser apps can’t start tools on your computer. Use a desktop app: Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex or Gemini CLI.
Does my computer need to stay on?
Yes, with Chrome open, while your assistant is using PAA Box.
Is it included in Pro?
Yes. AI assistant access is part of PAA Box Pro, along with answers, the question map, AKA plans and history.
