Versions marked Coming soon are built but not in the Chrome Web Store yet, so details can still change. Dates on released versions are when the change landed in our code. For a walkthrough of the new panel, see how PAA Box works.
1.1.0: PAA Box Pro (Coming soon)
Pro adds Google’s answers and tools for what you unpack. It will cost $7 for the first 7 days, then $90 a year, bought on paabox.com. See how Pro works.
- The free version: unpack D0 to D3, questions only, and download the CSV. It sends nothing anywhere.
- With answers is a Pro feature. Google’s answer and sources for every question, about 30 seconds at D0 and up to about 12 minutes at D3.
- Connect Pro with your license key on paabox.com. One license covers one person in up to 3 browsers.
- Pro tools under every finished unpack: Question map, AKA plan, Copy outline, JSON and History. Without Pro they show as locked.
- Question map. Every question and how it connects, with drag and zoom. Save it as a PNG.
- AKA content plan. The stack grouped into Authority, Knowledge and Answer pages, built in your browser. Download it as Markdown or CSV.
- Copy outline and JSON. Copy the whole stack as a Markdown outline, or download it as JSON.
- History. Your unpacks are saved in your browser, with what’s new since last time.
- Use it from AI assistants. Claude, Cursor and other MCP apps can ask PAA Box to unpack a search. It’s off until you switch it on, and it runs on your own computer. Each run gets its own Google tab or window, with at least 20 seconds between runs and no more than 30 an hour. If Google shows a captcha, the run stops and leaves the tab open for you.
- A dashboard that holds all of the above, plus your subscription.
1.0.6: BlogStorm PAA becomes PAA Box (Coming soon)
Same extension, new name and a rebuilt panel. If you have BlogStorm: People Also Ask Tool installed, it updates to PAA Box.
- New name, PAA Box: People Also Ask Tool, and new icons.
- A Mode switch (Questions only or With answers) and four depth buttons: D0 Lid off, D1 One layer, D2 Two layers, D3 All the way. Each button shows the estimated run time for the mode you picked.
- Unpack and Stop in one button, with a progress bar and a live question count.
- Nested results with an “N inside” count, and a toggle to fold or open each question’s follow-ups.
- Remembers your mode and depth between searches. D1 is the starting depth.
- Harvest Data is now Download CSV, and the file name includes your search.
- The PAA Box button next to the “People also ask” heading works with Google’s current layout, whatever language Google is in.
- A What’s New card explains the change on your first Google search after the update.
1.0.5: Works with Google’s new layout (Coming soon)
- Fixed: Google changed how the People Also Ask box shows answers, and 1.0.4 can end a run with “No seeds found to grow” at any depth. 1.0.5 reads the new layout, including answers that stream in.
- Waits for each question’s own answer, and never drops a question because its answer didn’t load.
- Finds follow-up questions where Google now puts them, right under the question that was opened.
- New Questions only mode, now the default: the question stack in seconds. With answers is a switch for when you also want Google’s answer and source.
- New time estimates for both modes: ~5 sec to ~1-2 min for questions only, ~30 sec to ~12 min with answers.
- Results appear while it runs. Stop anytime and keep what it found.
- A warning when the tab goes to the background in With answers mode, because Google pauses answers there.
- Your local Google. On google.co.uk, .ca, .com.au and more, click the toolbar icon on a search to switch it on. These domains are opt-in, so the update adds no new permission warnings and Chrome won’t switch the extension off when it updates.
- The toolbar icon now opens the panel on a Google results page, and opens Google from anywhere else.
1.0.4: Live in the Chrome Web Store
February 2025. This is the version in the Chrome Web Store as of 27 September 2026, listed as BlogStorm: People Also Ask Tool.
- On your first search, the panel slides out of the way after a moment. When the page has a People also ask box, a “PAA questions found! Click to expand” note offers to bring it back.
- The panel remembers whether you left it open or closed while you keep searching in the same tab.
1.0.3
January 2025.
- The Write blogs using BlogStorm button opens the BlogStorm app.
- Fixed: with a big question set, that button’s link could get too long to open. It now carries the questions and their structure, without the answers and sources.
1.0.2 and earlier
1.0.2 is the oldest version in our code history. By then the tool had four depth levels (Root Level, First Branch, Growing Tree and Full Growth), answers and sources for every question, a nested view of the results, CSV export with depth, question, parent question, answer, source URL and search query, and a Write blogs using BlogStorm button.
The in-app What’s New screen for 1.0.1 lists three changes: time estimates for each depth level, a clearer depth guide with examples, and better extraction at deeper levels.
